So that’s it for another year! Another great Business Festival and our hearty thanks go to everyone who helped make it such a success – exhibitors, delegates, speakers, sponsors, generous donations.
The presentations covered a wide range of areas from a rousing ’Torbay Together’ talk from the Herald Express’ Jim Parker, a tourism update from Carolyn Custerson, a quirky and unconventional business journey from Flossy & Jim, a thought provoking view on the ‘Future of Work’ from Russell Beck from Impellam and finally some interesting facts on the ‘Digital Age’ from Julie Hawker from Cosmic.
New for this year was speednetworking which proved very popular and was expertly hosted by Barry Cole and Sarah Barrett. The concept is similar to speed dating and a great way to quickly meet many people from diverse businesses in a limited time period. “It was great fun” said Richard Netherclift from Insignia Creative,” although I did lose my voice – which my colleagues back at our exhibition stand were very happy about!’
Clothing Your Way’s Dale Trifitt spent most of the day producing personalised mugs for everyone to celebrate the Festival. Said Dale; “It was a great event and I just want to say a massive thank you for allowing us at Clothing Your Way to be there printing mugs for everyone. We really enjoyed it”.
Nicola Domettt from South Devon College said; “We had a fabulous day at this brilliantly organised event. Keynote speakers were excellent and businesses exhibiting were welcoming and engaging. My business students who attended were excited about the career aspirations it’s given them and awareness of what’s available to them locally. Looking forward to coming again next year.”
